ON OUR HAND PRINT PROCESS:

Hand block printing is known for variegation in color and intensity of the dyes, which differentiates it from standardized machine produced prints. While this is not a bleed print, minimal fading may occur through washing. Each dye lot varies in hue. Your garment may have dye variations in the print which is the trademark patina of any handmade textile treatment. Nothing leaves our studio before quality inspection, so your garment will arrive with what can best be described as “hand made imperfect perfection."

ABOUT THE COLLECTION:

Inspired by a passion for artisanal traditions, Iena Cruz explores textile production with his new collection “Zurcanei,” based on the hand block printing technique of India.

The beauty of this collection is more than its aesthetic qualities: it is respect for labor, ethically sourced materials, and a sustainable mode of production.
The traditional handicraft of wood block printing exists in a parallel universe with respect to the modern world, one that stubbornly resists industrialization. To this day, artisans practice block printing without any use of machinery or computers.

This collection aims to spread the message of a more sustainable approach to production and the principles of “Slow Fashion”. For this reason, a first limited run of 100 pieces has been designed & produced.
